I have a gardenia that is very leggy. What should I do?

Prune each branch back to two to three leaf nodes (the part where the leaf comes out). Each leaf node will send out a new branch. Once it is pruned, put it in a bright sunny spot. Plants become leggy and stretched when they are not getting enough sun. If you can put it outside for the warm weather, even better. Breezes and wind encourage sturdier new growth.
