What can i use to keep bugs and lizards from eating buds of my plants?

i have a patio with palms, dwarf citrus trees, bamboo, blooming plants (gardenia etc.) but the buds keep getting eaten before they can bloom. i see tiny ants as well as lizards around

what can i do to get a bloom going?

What can i use to keep bugs and lizards from eating buds of my plants?
Spray with soapy water. Lizards eat bugs not plants.
Reply:spray it
Reply:Well, if you have some good bud just send it to me. lol
Reply:I doubt the lizards are eating your plants. Most lizards are carnivorous, and those that eat plants generally go for leaves or fruit rather than flowers. Your problem is more likely due to insects, but I don't know how you can deal with them (short of spraying your plants with insecticides) without knowing what exact kind of insect is doing it.
Reply:You can call your local plant nursery to both identify the types of ants and lizards (to see if they are the culprits) and to find the best defense against them. One other culprit could be birds as they tend to be attracted to the bugs that may be on your blooms. A friend of mine had a mocking bird that kept removing the buds from his tomato plants!
Reply:It could be aphids or assassin bugs. Whatever it is, Insecticidal Soap will take care of anything and it's non toxic. You can pick it up at Walmart in the garden section for around $4.00.
Reply:go to a home improvement store (osh, Home Depot, Lowes) and by ladybug eggs and pray mantis eggs then your problems will be over, they eat all bugs that go after your plants.
